Birdland

Birdland

Writer/Director Peter Lynch
Producers Peter Lynch and Katarina Gligorijevic
Co-Producer Ryan Reaney
Executive Producer Daniel Iron

Birdland is a surveillance-themed murder mystery set in the age of Edward Snowden and big oil.

Sheila Hood is an ex-cop whose marriage is on the rocks, and not just because her husband Tom is being held on suspicion of two murders—those of Ray Starling, the charismatic owner of a boutique hotel, and his girlfriend Merle James, a woman from Tom's past with whom he’d recently rekindled an affair.

Upon learning of his affair with the stunning Merle, Hood chooses not to confront Tom. Instead, her curiosity gets the better of her, and she hides surveillance cameras in their home and in his office, watching his transgressions, becoming increasingly obsessed with Merle, and a voyeur of her own life.

When Starling and Merle are both found dead, all signs seem to point to Tom as the guilty party. Now Hood's own surveillance tapes form the backbone of a police investigation that threatens to incriminate her and destroy her marriage. The story is told through surveillance, memories and flashbacks—and Hood's interrogation by her former partner, Calvin—as we unravel even deeper secrets surrounding not only the murders, but also the hidden lives of Tom and Sheila Hood.

At the St. Andrew Avellino International School in Bangkok, seven overseas students band together to exact a little payback from their extremely hot, but extremely harsh teacher, Mrs. Panoor, and being in Thailand they decide to settle their classroom score with a little black magic. Bangkok's full of supposed wizards-for-hire and these perma-tourist teenagers get an illicit thrill from heading out into the wrong part of town and getting up to a little mischief, Harry-Potter-style.

But things go horribly awry and Mrs. Panoor comes to a gruesome end. No worries. Next month is graduation and the kids all return to their fancy homes in England, America and Australia and forget about what they did in Thailand.

But Thailand hasn't forgotten about them …

Greta

Writer/Director Terrance Odette
Producers Colin Geddes and Katarina Gligorijevic

Greta's work is finally getting recognition: a series of abstract cellphone photographs which she takes without feeling any compunction to ask the subjects for permission. While on a low-rent promo tour, Greta sneaks a photo of an emaciated old punker woman dragging herself out of the basement of CBGB's. This ill-fated action unleashes a demonic wrath that terrorizes Greta and causes people around her to start commiting suicide. As Greta sees what is happening around her, she comes to the realization that she may have caused this terror, and without a drastic change in her self-centred lifestyle, she won't be able to stop it. In fact, there may only be one solution to ending it all.
